A. The VIA PRO Character Strengths Report has been developed as an advancement and extension of the VIA Interpretive Report (VIR). The report was reconstructed entirely with the practitioner in mind, thus the most significant changes made were to enhance practicality and ease-of-use for practitioners. To learn more click here.
The VIA PRO Character Strengths Report is accompanied by a Practitioner Guide which is a detailed, practical review guide for understanding character strengths and strategies for reviewing strengths with clients. It includes key issues to consider, cautions, practical tips, general interventions, and strength-based models for practice.
In comparison with the VIR, the VIA PRO Character Strengths Report has one new graph (a signature strengths graph) and retains the same graphs as the VIR (although the Peer/Comparison graph, which now includes comparison by country/region, is an optional purchase). The VIA PRO Character Strengths Report now includes tips, caveats, and explanations for working with the graphs and a list of questions to help the practitioner explore the graphs with clients.
The VIA PRO Report now offers distinct sections on general conceptual issues, research, exploration, and individualized meaning of each signature strength, in addition to new sections on overuse and underuse of each signature strength. Finally, due to popular request, the VIA PRO Report includes an appendix of 24 best practices, one intervention for boosting or working with each of the 24 character strengths.
Coming Soon: Users will have the option of purchasing a detailed description of the bottom five strengths with research and ways to explore these strengths

A. The Mayerson Foundation continues to make the VIA Inventory of Strengths Survey and the associated results free to everyone worldwide. However, the new and expanded VIA PRO Character Strengths Report required a significant investment for its development. The VIA Institute uses funds from the sale of VIA PRO Reports to support program development and operations of the Institute.
